I went in Lapland on my side, it was a dream to go there with my little sister to see the Northern lights & to put one foot on the other side of the Arctic Circle ! We decided to go three days in Rovaniemi, the main city of Finnish Lapland.

We arrived around 6 am after a long night in a night train and with a temperature of –25° but under a beautiful blue sky, letting all the sunlight reflect on the expanses of snow.

After booking a night hike with a guide to hope to see the Northern Lights at the tourist office, we went in Santa Claus village, a must-see place not far from Rovaniemi, to have reeinder and husky.

After this pleasant tour and some adventures, we go back in Rovaniemi, not only to eat but especially too see the famous Northern Lights !

And it's after 2 hours of adventures in the forest, a little walk and a barbecue around a wood fire to warm up, that finally, the sky lights up to play us some notes of music, that we could immortalize. This show is very impressive, even if the lights are not as intense with the naked eye as in the picture. On the frozen lake, between the starry sky and the fir trees, the aurora borealis gave us a very nice show for a good little hour. After this long day, we fell asleep satisfied and peaceful.

The next day, between a sauna and some ski runs, we went to the Artic Museum. What a surprise ! This museum is the best museum I've visited in my life ! I admit I do not spend my life in museums, but I still visited a lot, in Paris or on a trip. Between the gallery of photography of Finnish landscapes and their poetry, the one devoted to the Second World War (Rovaniemi was destroyed 90% by the Germans during the Second World War), contemporary art and especially the archeology gallery, this museum convinced me and I will happily spend much more time ! The reconstruction and everything was done with great care, a real journey in time and nature. I highly recommend it if you have the opportunity to go !

Finally, we spend to do our last day in a hike in fatbike in the forest, until a tipi to warm up ourselves around a small barbecue and go back in Rovaniemi to take the train for Turku, glad of these adventures.
